Annual Membership Meeting

The annual membership meeting has been scheduled for Saturday, 11th October, 2025, at 2pm to 4 pm, at the new Archives Building in McEwen, and as a teleconference meeting.

Flea Market Weekends

Flea Market weekends on the Sumpter Valley are a great time for everyone. Extra trains are offered on these Major Holiday weekends as well as extra days for each of the three large Flea Markets held every summer in the historic gold-mining town of Sumpter, Oregon.

For 2025 the Memorial Day Flea Market has been scheduled and the railroad will also run on the 4th of July Flea Market weekend and the Labor Day Flea Market weekend.

Fall Foliage

Now scheduled for Friday October 17th, Saturday, October 18th, and Sunday, October 19th, 2025

Sumpter Valley Railroad will once again run three days of Fall Foliage trains with hopes of catching the local autumn colors. This is NOT the historical photo train, but a beautiful time of the year for steam and Fall Foliage.

Halloween Express

Now scheduled for Saturday, November 1st, and Sunday, November 2nd, 2025

Sumpter Valley Railroad will be offering a Halloween Express. Passengers will be greeted with Halloween treats for everyone. Trips this year will be short round trips from Sumpter to Hwy 7.

Christmas Trains

Now scheduled for Friday, December 12th, Saturday, December 13th, and Sunday, December 14th, 2025 Take a narrow gauge diesel-powered trip back in time through a winter wonderland! Visit with Santa at the Sumpter Station, warm up with free cocoa, coffee or tea. Then go shopping at the Sumpter Christmas Bazaar. Christmas Trains on the Sumpter Valley are fun for the whole family, and are just a small part of the winter activities and events to be found in Baker County this holiday season!
